In this intensive workshop, you will learn how to work with models and professional lighting equipment. Whether your goal is Commercial, Corporate, or even Fashion Photography, this practical workshop will place you in the driver's seat of a Studio Photography environment where you can create beautiful studio portraits. Designed for those who wish to use (and be in full control of) artificial lighting, this course is a "Go-To" for those seeking to up their repertoire.What you will learn:

  • Lighting patterns

  • The three most important things in lighting:
  • What lenses to use and not to use

  • A lot of practical work where you will produce great pictures

What should I expect?

How long is it?

This is an 8 hour workshop that covers a lot of information on how to get comfortable in the studio.  From different equipment available, set ups, lighting patterns, camera settings, reading light, direction, colour and direction of light, posing etc.

Do we get hands on?

This workshop is 90% practical in a fully functional studio.  Models will be there for you to photograph and practice with

What if we get hungry?

Light snacks and soft drinks will be made available 

Requirements?

You must be proficient in shooting in manual mode as well as understanding the concepts of shutter speeds, aperture and ISO.  If you lack that knowledge, I would recommend the Stage 2 Digital Photography for intermediate levels first.



What should I bring with me?

  • A DSLR or Mirrorless Camera
  • Whatever lens you have (zoom lens or prime)
  • A tripod (if you have one)
  • Memory Cards
  • A notebook & pen (should you wish to take notes)
  • A cleaning kit (if you have one)
  • Pictures you wish to share with the class
